Drogba: MLS "more difficult" than Premier League

Former Chelsea superstar Didier Drogba hasn't been playing in Major League Soccer (MLS) for long, but it's been long enough for him to conclude that the North American league is more challenging than the English top flight in some ways.

The Ivorian talked up the difficulty posed by MLS at a British media event to promote his new autobiography, Commitment hear what the 37-year-old had to say.

"People think it's easy to play there. Believe me, it's more difficult than playing in the Premier League", said the Montreal Impact forward.

The 37-year-old highlighted the toll taken by the lengthy journeys required to play certain matches; for instance, it is a six-hour flight from Montreal to Los Angeles. He argued that this levels the playing field: "There are not a lot of away wins because when the teams arrive they are tired".

"There are also some very good players in the league. It's a growing league and I think it's going to be one of the most important and decisive leagues in the world in a few years", Drogba added.
