Spanish paper makes claim about Lionel Messi's act of fair play

"Cristiano Ronaldo would never do that!" Spanish paper makes claim about Lionel Messi's act of fair play

After Messi told a referee to NOT award him a foul, one paper in Spain has done its best to stir up the Barcelona vs Real Madrid rivalry

There were a few reasons for Barcelona fans to worship at the shrine of Lionel Messi after the Osasuna game.

The little genius was Barca's main man in their 3-0 win. He scored a typically brilliant solo wondergoal. And, just to add a big cherry on top of this massive Messi cake, the Argentinian also proved that he is all about fair play and sportsmanship.

At one point, Messi fell over as he went past Osasuna's Miguel de las Cuevas… despite there apparently being no contact between the two players.

Some people might say that constitutes a dive. However, virtually before he's even hit the ground, Messi could be seen turning to the referee and wagging his finger, indicating it wasn't a foul.

This obviously made it a wonderful act of sportsmanship, rather than a cheeky bit of simulation. And for famously pro-Barcelona Spanish paper Sport , it presented an opportunity to have a dig at Real Madrid man Cristiano Ronaldo.
