Erik Lamela is gone. Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports on Monday evening that the Argentine international has signed a contract to join French club Marseille and complete his transfer from Tottenham.
The 23-year-old arrived at White Hart Lane two years ago in a deal worth nearly £30 million after a breakthrough season at AS Roma.
Lamela had repeatedly been linked with a return to Italy, with Clubs such as Inter Milan and Juventus were linked, and last week Lamela's father even came out and made comments about how they'd welcome a transfer to Inter.
The most expensive player in Spurs history is set to leave the club having scored six goals in 59 appearances and provided at least one moment of magic.
