Cristian 'Cebolla' Rodríguez has waved the flag for compatriot Luis Suárez, claiming the former Ajax and Liverpool striker is the top player on the planet, even ahead of Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The former Atlético Madrid winger, who is now with Argentinian club Independiente, feels that his Uruguay teammate's is the kind of player who gets the job done.
"Suárez is better than Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, that's the way I see it. He doesn't mess around, he bears down on you and takes players on like a street footballer, which is why for me he's the best in the world", Rodríguez insisted in an interview with TyC Sports.
The 29-year-old also admitted that Suárez's absence from Uruguay's Copa América squad in the summer through suspension was a huge blow for the team, stressing how much the team had "missed him".
The Uruguayan striker has scored a total of 28 goals from 50 appearances since joining Barcelona back in 2014.
