Diego Costa comments on possiblity of Atletico Madrid return

Despite the denials, the Brazilian-born Spain international has been linked with a shock return to his former club Atletico Madrid.

However, Costa, who joined Chelsea in a £32million switch last summer, insists a move back to the Spanish capital isn’t on the cards.

“How am I going to return to Atletico if no one has made me an offer?,” the striker, who netted in the 4-0 triumph over Maccabi Tel Aviv on Wednesday, told Al Primer Toque.

“I scored a good goal [against Maccabi] but we needed to win and that’s what matters.”

Costa, however, is looking for his team-mates to build on Wednesday’s win – starting with Chelsea’s Saturday lunchtime clash against Arsenal.

“We know we can give a little more than we are. Each one of us knows that we can do more. We thought things would be better.”
Since joining Chelsea back in 2014 Diego Costa has made 43 appearances for the Blues scoring 23 goals.
