Real Madrid News: David De Gea Saga Discussed by La Liga President

La Liga president Javier Tebas has taken side with Real Madrid in their argument with Manchester United over the failed transfer of Spanish international goalkeeper David De Gea.

The deal collapsed since it did not meet the deadline, with both clubs pointing fingers at each other for the failure of the transfer.

Tebas,  believes Real's side of the story and confirmed the Liga giants did not attempt to appeal after they failed to make the deal stick, speaking to Sky Sports News HQ:

All I know is when I spoke to Madrid, things happened a bit late but I believe in Real Madrid's version a little more than Manchester United's version.

No, [Real did not attempt to appeal]. They just rang to see what had actually happened and if there was any way within the rules that it could be put right. Having been involved in those situations myself in the past, when things get tight to the deadline, I believe Madrid did everything they could and behaved in totally the proper way to make sure David De Gea would have been on his way to play for that club.

Rumours were suggesting that Real Madrid are planning to take the keeper on a free transfer next season, however the player is on the verge of signing a contract extension with Manchester United.

David De Gea needs first team football in order to be considered as a starter for Spain at the Euro 2016  and the player could very well be convinced to sign the new deal.
