Vicente del Bosque has named his squad for the upcoming Euro qualifiers against Luxembourg and the Ukraine. The Spain boss has called up the likes of Thiago Alcántara and Álvaro Morata but left out Chelsea forward Diego Costa. The Spanish manager also expressed how he felt about his players conduct in the Chelsea vs Arsenal game.
Regarding Diego Costa he said: "He can't play in the first game through suspension and we've decided not to call him up. He's playing badly so it isn't about with his form. Our decision had nothing to do with his Chelsea ban. Let's not make it all about his suspension, although I was unimpressed by what he did, of course".
Thiago Alcántara and Álvaro Morata return to a squad comprised of: Casillas, De Gea, Rico; Carvajal, Piqué, Ramos, Alba, Juanfran, Barta, Iñigo Martínez, Azpilicueta, Busquets, Bruno, Cesc, Isco, Cazorla, Mata, Thiago, Morata, Pedro, Silva, Nolito y Alcácer for the upcoming games against Luxembourg and Ukraine on the 9th and the 12 of October respectively.
