Tottenham to rival Liverpool and Man Utd to sign Brazil star


The former AC Milan star Alexandre Pato is expected to leave Corinthians in the January transfer window, according to reports.

However the 26-year-old, who has been strongly linked with Liverpool, after The Brazilian club's chairman Roberto de Andrade openly admitted to agreeing a deal with Liverpool for the striker.

"There is an agreement in principle with Liverpool for the transfer in the coming weeks,” he said.

He later told SporTV that no 'concrete' offer had been received, leading to continued interest from Manchester United, West Ham and now Tottenham.

But according to to Calcionews24, Spurs are now front runners in the chase to land the Corinthians playmaker, who is currently impressing on-loan at Sao Paulo.

The report claims negotiations have already begun between the two clubs with a fee of around £8m being discussed.

Tottenham are light in the striker department with just Harry Kane and Clinton Njie as their senior forwards and the source claims Pato is the club’s latest idea to strengthen their attacking options.
