Arda Turan hat-trick helps Barcelona hammer Borussia Monchengladbach

Barcelona finished the UEFA Champions League group stage in style, dominating Borussia Mönchengladbach at Camp Nou en route to an easy 4-0 win, thanks to a goal from Lionel Messi and a hat-trick for Arda Turan. The Blaugrana were absolutely in control and picked up a major boost in confidence with a strong performance.
FIRST HALF
Barça began the game with real purpose and fantastic use of possession, switching the play from side to side and throwing Gladbach's defense off balance to create spaces and opportunities. Leo Messi was free to roam all over the pitch and get involved in the attacking play. He scored a very nice goal after combining with Arda Turan, and Barça were comfortably ahead.
The Blaugrana remained in control throughout the rest of the period, but couldn't replicate their first 15 minutes of movement, quick passing and chance creation, and the game stagnated for the final half hour. Still, the Catalans were sharp, dominant and in full control, taking a deserved one-goal lead into halftime.
SECOND HALF
Arda Turan scored two goals inside eight minutes of the second half to put the game to bed and guarantee the victory. It was about maintaining the level of play and maybe scoring some more goals, and that's what happened, and Arda got his first hat-trick for Barcelona with an easy goal after a very good pass from Paco Alcácer.
Barça cruised in the final minutes, kept the clean sheet and will finish the group stage with five wins in six matches. Very good European campaign so far.
