Arsenal are making a £35.5million transfer offer for Edinson Cavani after pulling out on a move for Karim Benzema due to the a fee the Gunners consider to be exorbitant, according to reports.
The Gunners are looking for a top quality striker to partner Olivier Giroud this summer and speculations has been rife about a deal for Real Madrid’s Benzema with some reporting that Arsenal are not willing to pay the asking price for the French international.
But reports in Spain say Arsenal have become frustrated that a deal hasn’t happened yet and with Madrid wanting a fee close to £45m – Arsenal have turned their attention to Uruguayan international Edinson Cavani who they believe they can secure at a lesser price than Benzema.
It’s claimed a £35.5m bid is going in for the forward who is now Arsenal’s top transfer target.
Arsenal apparently know signing Cavani will be a difficult task however Arsene Wenger still fancies his chances.
