High-rated football medic Eva Carneiro is to take legal action against Chelsea following her run-in with José Mourinho.
After rushing on to the pitch to attend to Eden Hazard in the dying stages of Chelsea's draw with Swansea in August. The coach accused the doctor of being naïve because her intervention meant Hazard had to be briefly removed from the field of play, leaving the team temporarily down to nine men. Mourinho responded by ostracising Carneiro and stripping her of most of her duties, including sitting in the dugout during matches.
Last Friday Carneiro did not return to work when she was asked to, this is an indication that the Gibraltar-born medic is planning to quit the Blues.
Speculation in England that the 41-year-old is receiving legal advice before launching a lawsuit against the 2014-15 Premier League champions because of the way she was treated.
Mourinho, meanwhile, could shortly face an FA charge over the way he spoke to Carneiro during their bust-up, with the coach alleged called the doctor a "filha da puta" in Portuguese.
