Real Madrid's Marco Asensio has made real waves at the Power8 Stadium in his first two games and has expressed his thanks for the welcome he has been given by the Espanyol faithful.
"The way the fans have supported me has really got under my skin. Their support spurs me on and it also helps the team as a whole. When the fans get behind us and we're united is when we win games, just like we were against Valencia. With regards to the reviews I've been getting, I take them in my stride".
When asked about returning to his parent club, the 19-year-old Mallorca-born starlet said: "It's still early days to be thinking about whether I will return to Real Madrid, or not. It is a case of waiting to see what the end of the season brings".
The 'Periquitos' midfielder, showing a maturity which defies his age, is wary of getting carried away by the hype surrounding his performances, "I try to ignore what people are saying. I just go out and try to train and play well. I've got good people around me here in Barcelona and they are always acting in my best interests. I'm really very relaxed about it all".
