Sergio Aguero and David Silva fitness update ahead of Juventus clash

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero will miss Tuesday's Champions League opener against Juventus at Etihad Stadium because of a knee injury.

The 27-year old, was injured in a tackle by Scott Dann during City's 1-0 win at Crystal Palace on Saturday.

However, the City boss did confirm that David Silva and Raheem Sterling, who missed out against Palace due to respective ankle and hamstring problems, will be available.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Pellegrini said: "Sergio is not fit for tomorrow"

"I hope he will be OK for the weekend but we must wait to see the result of the scans."

City get their European campaign under way at the Etihad against the Serie A champions, who have made a slow start to their league title defence with two defeats and a draw from their opening three games. Sevilla and Borussia Mönchengladbach are the other sides in Group D.
