Former club of Barcelona star calls for FIFA to ban the player for six months

Barcelona and Brazilian superstar Neymar in trouble? Well according to Marca the Spanish based newspaper the 23-year-old's former club Santos have asked FIFA to ban him for six months for an alleged breach of contract. The Brazilian club has been pushing its case ever since new figures emerged regarding the striker's move to Barcelona.

The newspaper 'O Globo' suggests, the Brazilian club claims that the player breached the terms of his transfer deal. The same source also said that it will now be a FIFA committee which decides if there is good reason to ban Neymar.

In Santos's opinion, there has been a breach of article 17 of FIFA's transfer regulations, which refers to the termination of contracts. The article covers financial compensation for the selling club and punishment for the player involved, which could range from a four to six-month ban.

It seems to be another dose of bad news for the Catalan giants with the club facing the possibility of being booted out of La Liga, Lionel Messi injured and now will have to stand trial for tax fraud with could lead up to 22 months in prison and now the Neymar possible ban not good news at all for the club who claimed the treble last campaign.
