Luis Enrique: "Rakitic's injury disrupts our plans"

Barcelona boss Luis Enrique spoke of his disappointment due to losing Croatian international Ivan Rakitic to a muscular injury in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

"Rakitic's injury disrupts our plans because of his quality and because it's going to be a tough game against Villarreal", he said at a press conference.

Regarding the key to his team's win over the BATE, the Spaniard said:
"These types of games come with obvious difficulties. The team remained focused throughout and kept the opposition under pressure in their own half. We improved after the break in terms of losing fewer balls in the opposition's half and having more fluid movement in the final third", he said.

When asked why he had dropped Munir and Sandro from the squad, Luis Enrique said that he thought it was important for the two strikers to "enjoy some playing time without the pressure they're under" right now.

Both players have started games since Messi fell injured on 26th September, a time in which, according to Luis Enrique, results "have gone their way".

"We obviously miss Messi a great deal, but I've always said that the team have a lot of resources", he said.
