West Brom's £20m Saido Berahino on Chelsea's radar

According to reports from The Telegraph Chelsea are planning to make a bid for West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino.

The report suggests that the Blues are planning to offer £20 million for the forward, and believe they can come to an agreement with the Baggies .

Tottenham are also in the race for the player and they have already bid more than what Chelsea planned to offer, however they want to pay in installments while Chelsea are willing to pay all at once and that might be more convincing for West Brom chairman Jeremy Peace.

Chelsea have struggled this season and currently sit in 16th place with just 11 points, but have too much quality to finish in the bottom half of the table, and are still capable of climbing back up the league.

They may have left themselves with too much to do, but Berahino could prove to be significant in helping them to progress in the top half of the table.

Going to Stamford Bridge could be tricky for the striker, who will not want to be a bit part player bought only to add to the club's homegrown quota list.

Radamel Falcao is unlikely to be at Chelsea when his loan expires - and Chelsea could even look to get out of the deal in January, with the Colombian scoring only once this season, while Diego Costa has looked a shadow of the player who lit up the Premier League at the start of last season.
