Karim Benzema: "I'm not guilty and I hope it all ends well"

Real Madrid star Karim Benzema Clams he is not guilty in an interview with French TV station 'TF1'. In the interview the French international gave his side of the alleged blackmail case.

"I'm being accused as if I were a criminal, it's horrible", Benzema began, before going on to outline his conversation with Valbuena: "What happened is simple. I heard there was a video of him and I told him, but he already knew about it. I told him that a friend of mine in Lyon could help him. We talked about it, whether he'd warned his family, and if they already knew, that he should let it all come out".

The Real Madrid man also talked about being the victim of a media witch-hunt:

"There has been talk of blackmail, I've heard that I wanted money, as did my friend, and that makes me mad. I never talked about money".

"I don't know the blackmailers. Zenati is a childhood friend. He's been to prison, but is out and has another chance. He has a past and is my friend", said Benzema, who added, in reference to Valls' recent comments: "I'm loyal to my friends and family. I'm a role model for young people".
