Manchester City's Sergio Agüero suffer hamstring injury on Argentina duty

Sergio Agüero was reportedly left in tears in the dressing room, after carried off with a leg injury during Argentina’s World Cup qualifier with Ecuador in what could be a huge blow to Manchester City,

The 27-year-old is set to have a scan and looks likely to miss Argentina's game against Paraguay next week.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side must wait to see the extent of the injury, and for how long they must cope without one of their key players.

Aguero had only just returned to fitness after a knee injury earlier in the season.

A statement from the Argentina Football Association later confirmed the injury: “Agüero suffered a muscle injury in the femoral biceps of his left leg and we will conduct more studies on Friday.”

The Premier League leaders are next in action against Bournemouth on 17 October.
