Fiorentina chief confirms Mohamed Salah could be hit with FIFA ban


Chelsea winger Mohammaed Salah is facing the possibility of becoming ban by FIFA after failing to transfer to Fiorentina but instead going on loan AS Roma.

The Egyptian international  rejected the chance to join La Viola, instead forces a move to Roma where he is currently on loan.

The 23-year-old has spent the second half of last season on loan to Fiorentina where he impressed leading the host club to offer Chelsea a deal to make a permanent move to the Serie A, Salah declined in breach of his contract according to the club.

The Florence team appealed against the players action and the player could be looking on a FIFA ban due to his actions.

Fiorentina’s director general Andrea Rogg said on Thursday: “Salah is a Roma player with a provisional transfer. If FIFA find us to be correct, the player will be banned and Fiorentina will receive compensation due to his refusal to play with us.

“Fiorentina’s position has already been made clear by (sporting director) Daniele Prade.”
